My Favorite Movies

by - February 22, 2021

I'm an author. I love stories. Books, writing, reading, all of it. Movies, though--those have been a love of mine since I was a small child. So now, we shall SHARE about these movies I enjoy. Just some of my top movies, probably of all time.

This has hardly been a favorite movie for a year, but I love this movie so very much and watch it literally all the time. The plot, the characters, the romance, all of it. I did an individual blog post on why I love this movie so much. I just happen to adore it for personal reasons and that's about all I have to say about that.

A favorite for many years, this movie tells the story of William Wilberforce, the man who headed up ending slavery in England. He was a WONDER, and God was on his side. Therefore, this movie is amazing. *coughs in pun* can you tell I'm really really freaking tired

What sort of movie is this *sobs* I love it so much and there's a reason it's so popular. I just love it with all my soul.

A masterpiece of both comedy and feels tbh, I've loved this movie for years and nothing will ever change that, I don't think. It's so solid.

My favorite movie as a small child and still a favorite today. I still refuse to watch the new one because THAT'S NOT MY B&TB ONLY PAIGE O'HARA IS BELLE. I actually saw the musical live at the age of 3, and while I don't remember it at ALL, that's an indication of how precious this movie is to me.

Another early childhood favorite (I love animated movies, can you tell?) I remember watching this movie in the car at the age of 2 or so, probably one of my earliest memories, and it's only grown more precious as time has gone on.

At this point, this is my favorite Star Wars movie. I know it doesn't REALLY count as Star Wars, but I just really happen to love this movie a LOT. The themes of sacrifice and the ship *cackles* and yeah just everything about this movie.

A classic. I'm a homeschooler. What can I say.

The best version of this story. Kit is just swoony and Ella is my role model. This story is everything--I've never actually been a fan of Cinderella, but I LOVE this particular retelling of the story, and I will never get over said love.

That's all I've got for now--share in the comments what some of your favorite movies are! If you have recs, tell me--I'm always looking for something new to watch. ;)

  6. I am very proud of myself because I have seen all of these. :D Amazing Grace and Cinderella are both two of my all time favorites, too!!! They make me sob so much because of how gorgeous they are. I will never get tired of them. <3 I LOVE The Prince of Egypt! All of these are so feel good (or devastating, for Rogue One. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it and definitely want to see it again! I totally get the Star Wars love as A New Hope and The Last Jedi both mean so much to me! <333). Solid choices for the rest! *fist bumps for The Princess Bride*

If I were ever to recommend a movie it would be This Beautiful Fantastic (2017). It's perfect in every way and brings me joy on so many different levels!

  7. THE LORD OF THE RINGS YES. And Tangled!! And Beauty and the Beast!! Belle was always my favorite Disney princess growing up. And I was honestly never a big fan of Cinderella either, so your endorsement of the live action may prompt me to give it a try.
Have you ever seen Emperor's New Groove?? That's another older animated movie that I still L O V E to this day. Definitely one of my very favorite movies ever.

  10. I love The Prince of Egypt too! Also Joseph King of Dreams! <3 I've seen all of these movies and they're so good! (I'm really sorry to say that I wasn't a fan of The Lego Movie *hides* My siblings love it though!) The Little Mermaid was my fav movie as a child and I'm scared for whenever they turn it into a live-action movie, so I can understand you not wanting to watch the new Beauty and the Beast. Tangled is amazing and you can never go wrong with Lord of the Rings! ^_^

Tangled and live-action Cinderella <3 Probably my top two Disney princess movies!!

How did you feel about Lego Movie 2? I enjoyed the first one a lot, but I thought the second was particularly good!
