Alpha Read my Rooglewood Story!

by - October 02, 2017

I'm ready for alpha readers for my Rooglewood Press Snow White story! I've never done anything like this before, and it makes me very nervous. However. We're gonna do this, peeps.

I don't know about you, but I think it would be pretty epic to see my name on that cover. The thing is, I need your help to get there. So will you help me?

I've never done Google forms or, really, Google permissions/docs. My good friend Ry is reading several of my stories right now and being super encouraging, but I don't really know how to do all of this good stuff like setting up a doc that's comment only and all that good stuff. But I'm going to figure it out. Learning as we go here. :)

So, if you want to sign up to alpha-read my book (or beta read when the alpha readers are done), please, let me know below! Now is the time to sign up, friends!

However. There is a catch.

Priority will be given to the first five people to sign up, and thus if you hesitate, you may lose the opportunity to read my story now. *realizes that she sounds like a salesman* Also, my story, while in MUCH better shape than they normally are at this stage, is incomplete, so I will need your help to improve as I'm writing the middle-to-end. At the moment, word count is about 5000 words, or 10 pages. It will probably end up being somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 words, so thirty or so typed pages. Not bad at all, right?

This will also be closing at 6 AM on October 12th.

Here you go. Sign up if you dare! And thank you all so much!

EDIT:
Thank you so much to everyone who's signed up so far! I'm overwhelmed by the number of you who have volunteered your services. If you're interested in beta-ing, please, go ahead and sign up now, and I'll just save your stuff for when I'm ready for betas. That will be a few weeks or even a month or so from now. :) Thank you all again!

  2. Now I'm not sure if I'll be able to Alpha read with stuff that's come up, but I'd love to beta read after the alphas have a hold of it. This may change and I may be able to alpha read. I just have to see what today brings. :D (Nothing super bad has happened, I just have to see how the day goes...)
If all goes well, then I will sign up. But if not, I definitely want to beta. :D

    1. That stinks. *glares at own pile which probably should be prohibiting me from writing this story in the first place* Good luck to you too!

  9. I'm so excited for you!!! :D :D :D

Sadly, I won't be able to alpha or beta though. :'( I've already got two beta projects going and need to plot for NaNoWriMo and then DO NaNo on top of some other crazy life stuff so...I'm swamped. I'm forcing myself to not take on anymore projects for the next two months for the sake of my sanity. Lol.

But I'm so glad you're getting lots of readers and I hope everything goes absolutely wonderfully! <333

  10. I've never alpha read, plus I'm fairly busy, so I won't be able to help you with this... but I'm glad to see you have so many people lined up to help! I hope you get your draft finished soon and that everything goes well. :)

  11. Me: ANOTHER BOOK TO READ!!! SIGN UP SIGN UP
Also Me: No, Precious, you haves no times!!!
Me: BUT IT'S ONLY 10,000 to 15,000 WORDS
    Also Me: "Only???"
    Me: I READ FAST
Also Me: Don't. Just don't. Go and edit your own story.
    Me: I SIGN UP
    Also Me: *facedesk*

So yeah. But I can alpha or beta. As long as I know what the author is looking for, I like to think I give reasonable feedback.

But I hope you get some good alpha/beta readers!! Having ones that manage to tear your story apart and yet can still be encouraging is such a blessing!

    1. That dialogue with Also Me made me crack up, because it's so accurate! XD I'm glad to have you along for the ride on this--although it is my first time so patience will certainly be required. :P

    2. Me and Also Me have trouble getting along - most of the time. Sometimes they agree, though.

  12. I REALLY want to read your story!! :D But I think it would have to be a beta read. With NaNo prepping and NaNo itself approaching, I don't know if I can take on the responsibility at this time. :P
