Greetings, all! Today, I'm over the moon excited to be bringing you a post introducing MY 2019 NANOWRIMO NOVEL which is one I've been waiting to write for years. Literal years. I am so excited about this. *covers mouth and squeals* And the lovely Christine Smith has made a linkup that works nicely to introduce this book!!!!!!!
So I know y'all are all dying to know WHAT IS YOUR NANO NOVEL, FAITH????? (Probably not, actually. Most of you already know.) But it's time for a big dramatic reveal because it's
The actually archetype itself is a spoiler, so I won't tell y'all what it is, but...let's just say it's going to make things interesting *smiles mysteriously*
These are just the five mains--the side cast is roughly the size of a small army.
>my villain's goal
>Princess Esma's very existence (a sweet, soft girl as the protagonist who doesn't turn her back on her sweet, soft ways)
>the fact that the villain's worst enemy isn't actually the main protagonist
>my characters are all so determined to die it's not even funny (not that that's unique, but seriously, guys. SERIOUSLY.)

PENTEGREENS BOOK FOOOOUUUUUURRRRRRR
I'm so pumped to be writing this novel, you guys. SO PUMPED *screams into the void* *void screams back* MY BABIES ARE FINALLY GETTING THEIR FINALE!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting to write this one FOREVER and I can't believe I'm actually here. There's going to be so much screaming and flailing and jumping up and down and askjdfljadghadsfjdakjfakdsfjads MY BOOOOOOOOK
Anyway, without further ado...let's get into these questions!!!!!!!!!!!
(all images from Pinterest; all rights to the owners. I own nothing)
1. What first sparked the idea for this novel?
Well...*coughs* There's nothing I can really say on that front right now. I've told you all the story behind Pentegreens a million times xD And I have no idea where this book came from, except for the fact that the main plot derives from a single question. What if you took a very popular archetype for characters...and turned that archetype into the villain? The actually archetype itself is a spoiler, so I won't tell y'all what it is, but...let's just say it's going to make things interesting *smiles mysteriously*
2. Share a blurb!
*gasps* GUESS WHAT! More spoilers!!!!!! The TITLE of this book is a spoiler! Everything is a spoiler! So instead of an actual blurb...here's a THING instead.
They fight.
The girl no longer content to be just a pawn.
The boy who found everything--and lost it.
The girl whose darkness yearned to devour her.
The girl who only wanted to live.
The boy who failed.
And the man who stands against them--except he made two critical errors.
He forgot about the strength of pure reckless true love, and he didn't reckon on the girl who could rip the sun from the sky.
3. Where does the story take place? What are some of your favorite aspects about the setting?
This story takes place largely in the white city of Misue, aka my ripoff of Minas Tirith. And it's fun to write this. Espionage, battles, spies, and romance are going down in this book, and all of it is happening both in this city and outside it, and it's a lot of fun.
4. Tell us about your protagonist(s).
I have multiple protagonists. A lot of protagonists. Haha. Five, actually, but who's counting?
Esma: Princess of the Pentegreens, Child of Fire, Heir of Kings, Light of Misue and Hope of the South
Rishatta: General's son, broken boy, protector, wielder of chill
Kariana: Warrior of light, creature of darkness, Royal Bodyguard, King's Spy
Derek: King's Commander, friend to the rulers, warrior, healer
Anna: Daughter of ice, beauty embodied, survivor, slave of evil
5. Who (or what) is the antagonist?
You thought you'd fought enough, didn't you? You thought you'd make it if you just fought harder. But that's not true. You can't outdo me. Never.
Lord Dauthang, the Big Bad of my series, goes head to head with all my good guys in this book, and he's a foe to match all of them. And not just the Main Ones, either. Everybody gets a chance to fight him. Literally. I'm having way too much fun preparing for these fight scenes.
6. What excites you the most about this novel?
I finally get the last say on my ships. All of them. No more ship wars. (Well, I probably can't stop all of you, but...Ships sail. The ones that are supposed to sail, do. And everything is amazing. I am already super excited because EVERYTHING WORKS OUT OKAY)
7. Is this going to be a series? standalone? something else?
8. Are you plotting? pantsing? plansting?
PLOTTING AND I HAVE AN OUTLINE. *coughs* It's rough but dude, this is happening. It's going to be a massive, massive book and I need to keep track of what I'm doing. So many plotlines and character arcs and confrontations and journeys are coming together that I need the thing to keep my head screwed on xD
9. Name a few things that makes this story unique.
>My way of handling the unfortunate love triangle(s) that have sprung up>my villain's goal
SERIOUSLY.)
10. Share a fun “extra” of the story (a song or full playlist, some aesthetics, a collage, a Pinterest board, a map you’ve made, a special theme you’re going to incorporate, ANYTHING you want to share!).
And that's it! What are you doing for NaNoWriMo? Are you as pumped as I am for this writing dash? xD Chat with me in the comments!
