5-Part Writing Special, Week 5: Aesthetics, Playlists, and ARTWORK!

by - March 30, 2018

First up: My giveaway wrapped up, and the winner is Alexa from Summer Snowflakes! Congratulations, Alexa! :D I can't wait to get to work on your drawing!!!!

This is the last post of the 5-Part Writing Special. It's been a blast, and I've loved getting to share some tidbits about my brainchild with y'all. Hopefully you're tantalized by the tiny details I'm able to share...it's SO HARD to talk about a book when EVERYTHING about the plot and several characters carries nothing but spoilers. EVERYTHING. *snarls with irritation*

[Note: There will not be much by way of explanation in this post. Just words and pictures and songs. I will let you make of those what you will.]

“You were trying to get information from him, and ended up insulting his mother? How does that even happen?”

“I’m sorry. Are you trying to give orders? To me?” Esma’s hands flew off the bars and onto her scrawny hips.
“Do you forget who you’re talking to? You’re at our mercy, so what gives you the authority to give orders--”

“To the almighty Princess of the Pentegreens? Light of Misue and Hope of the south and all that yadda ya? Oh, spare us. Have you forgotten who you’re talking to?"

From Pinterest

“Yes, I do, love. I want you to help, and I want you to take courage. Don’t let this fear define what you do. You’re more than fear, Esma, and you need to learn that. I was once as afraid as you are, and I had to walk through canyons of darkness to learn to escape it. You don’t have to do the same, but you do need to overcome your terror and embrace the fact that you are a young woman of considerable strength.”

Esma: Steel // broken // invincible // words

Bernathel: Fire // soft edges // buried truths // mother lioness

Martin: Mighty // thunder // secret fear

Kariana: Tired // tough exterior // ready to break // mind-blowing spy // secrets untold

Derek: Sleepless // selfless // optimist // leader // sacrificing

Rishatta: Mysteries // muscle // conflict

Torin: Speed // innocence // devotion

Clarence: Sweetness // restrained // uncertain

Burashna: Ice // anger // power

The princess carried light within her.

Happy Good Friday, also. Make sure you remember what HE has done. Go to church tonight and remember the sacrifice our Lord made for us. He is truly amazing.

  11. I particularly liked the word aesthetics for the characters - Bernathel, Kariana and Derek's especially interested me (mother lioness! <3). (And I have that same path + forest picture! :D)

Fall Out Boy isn't my usual style, but I'm trying it, due to your playlists! (same for Imagine Dragons - they're both artists that seem to be quite popular in the blogosphere, but I'm still undecided on them ;)
