The Writer's Song is Born
Hi, everyone. This is Faith, who you may see commenting on things as the Florid Sword. I would totally recommend that you look up the Wingfeather Saga and read it, so that you know what that name is a reference to, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
I do that a lot. But, this being my blog, I can do whatever I want. *rubs hands together gleefully*
Ahem.
First things first.
I'm a Christian, first and foremost. That's very important, and that's going to influence much (read: most) of what I write.
Secondly: I am a writer and a musician. The two go hand in hand, I think, and those two topics (and my life, and other things) will be the main focus of this blog. So if you're at all curious about my writing or you want to hear my opinions about music (and my life, and other things) you might like my blog.
I'm a little nervous. I mean, another blog? There are already so many blogs out there! You're saying, "What makes your blog different, Faith?"
Well, I'm not sure yet. We'll figure that out as we go along. :) But I need a place to write and talk about me (because I'm SPECIAL!!!! *bites fingernails* Sorry) and from which to promote my writing and to be myself. And to be controversial.
I will be posting about my (politically incorrect) opinions every so often, including my pro-life beliefs, and other such things in the culture, so be prepared for that. I just want to warn you ahead of time so you won't freak out when it happens.
So, that's me. I hope you'll read my blog, and I hope that it will be an encouragement and that you'll like me *bats eyelids hopefully*
Thank you for reading my blog!

YOU HAZ A BLOG! THIS IS SO FUNNN!!! And you should absolutely NOT be nervous! All of us could use a space to get our thoughts out, and, yes, there are lots of blogs, but there is only one YOU. You have your own voice, and THAT'S what's important. I can't wait to read your posts! ^_^
ReplyDelete(Also, you wouldn't be interested in adding the little Google Friends Connect follow button would you? That way your posts will appear on my dashboard. Although it doesn't always work, or you may not want to, so that's okay! I just have a hard time keeping up with blogs that don't appear on my blogging dashboard.)
WELL, HELLO THERE! Welcome to the blogosphere. :D I'm SO GLAD you have your own blog now (and that I know your name).
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the nerves involved. Trust me, I was the same way when I started. ;) But you'll get the hang of it, and I know you'll do a fantabulous job! ^_^
Can't wait to see more of your posts, Faith! :D (And I second Christine. The Google Friends Connect button is super helpful. *nods*)
Yeah, I need to add that, and I've been looking for it on Blogger... But I can't find it. *chews nails awkwardly* You wouldn't happen to be able to tell me how to add it, would you?
ReplyDeleteOkay, so go to the "Layout" area on your dashboard. Then, on the sidebar, click the "+ Add a Gadget" button at the top. Click the "More Gadgets" button on the left and scroll down all the way to the bottom of the first page of results. There should be a gadget that says "Followers." Simply click that and press "Save." Hopefully that helps! :)
DeleteOkay, done!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I'm so glad it worked! I just followed. :D
DeleteHURRAY. I'm following now!!! :D
DeleteAha! I knew I had found a fellow lover of the WingFeather Saga when I saw your username!!! In the words of Scana the Furry (who I just made up), "I am so glad to meet you"! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou like the Wingfeather saga? Yayayayayayay!!!! *squeals very unprofessionally* I'm so happy! I'm glad to meet you too!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of blogging! It's a pleasure to meet you, and I'm looking forward to reading what you have to share.

Thank you so much for the offer, Savannah. I will most likely have to take you up on it. Y'all are all so nice :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blogosphere, Florid! *throws confetti* (Or should I call you Faith now?) This is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteI, for one, am definitely interested in reading your thoughts on writing, music, life, and politically incorrect things. ;)
By the way, I tagged you for the Sunshine Blogger Award! http://traceydyck.blogspot.ca/2017/03/tag-3-sunshine-blogger-award.html
Thank you for your sweet words, Tracey! You can call me Florid or Faith, either way is fine.
DeleteI will definitely do that tag! Thank you! *tries to think of eleven bloggers to tag* Oh boy.
Aw, you're welcome! And no worries if you can't think of 11. People bend those rules all the time. :)
DeleteCongratulations on starting your blog! And high fives for being a writer and musician. Me too! Really looking forward to seeing what you get up to on here.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Imogen! You're so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHello, friends! Do make yourselves comfortable and stay for a while--I'd love to chat with you! I simply ask that you keep it clean. :)
